 Outdoor Enthusiasts Rejoice!

Base Camp Oswego is a new event for outdoor folks who aren't afraid of the cold weather. Learn winter survival skills, the basics of winter camping, and explore the grounds of Camp Hollis on skis and snowshoes at “Base Camp Oswego 2016,” a winter outdoor expo, Saturday, Feb. 27 at Camp Hollis. Spotlight on Local History

The Oswego International War of 1812 Symposium returns to the Port City Friday, April 1 to Sunday, April 3, 2016. Once again, the sixth annual event will bring in prominent speakers on War of1812 history and feature the growing student competition! 

New this year, the program will also celebrate the Oswego County Bicentennial with presentations about early local history. Nine prominent speakers will discuss a variety of topics from the establishment of Fort Oswego to civilian experiences in border communities to the impact of the War of 1812 and how it led to the formation of the county.

Admission for this year’s event is now only $50 (or $25 for students with a valid ID) for both Saturday and Sunday. The fee includes Saturday’s lunch, refreshment breaks and workshop materials. One-day tickets are also available and admission is free for the opening reception and student competition on Friday night. Register online at or by calling 315-343-4711.

Fire and Ice Festival- 
Feb. 6 

Warm things up in Oswego with this fun event featuring chili cook-offs, treasure hunts, live music, vendors and end the night with fireworks over the Oswego River. More information here.

Great Eastern Whiteout-
Feb. 13 & 14

Come watch this unique antique and vintage snowmobile race and show in Fulton on Feb. 13 and 14. More information here. 

Lake Ontario Wedding Show-
Feb. 28

Enjoy the latest in wedding trends and decor ideas at the Lake Ontario Conference Center in Oswego on Feb. 28. There will be a live fashion show, gift bags and fabulous prizes! More information here.

at Selkirk Shores!

Hike, ski, or snowshoe this Valentine's Day on the gradual half mile candlelit trail. Enjoy a warm fire and refreshments after the hike!
